Camera Optica
The graduation performance ‘Camera Optica’, staged in a former physics classroom, explores the interaction between humans and their perceivable environment. By working with contrasts and the physical principles of light, thefellow spectators, passing clouds, and the wet red floor become antagonists that transform the location into a unique personal experience.
Camera Optica is a physical translation of my final research document ’the environment as co-performer’. Go to ‘Research’ for more information
RED
Inspired by the theatre text RED, which explores the life and work of artist Mark Rothko, our performance transforms his studio into a space of artistic experimentation. Drawing from Rothko’s abstract style, we’ve created a minimalist stage design with a white floor, red objects, and striking use of light. With just two performers, dressed in black and white, we deconstruct the original narrative into an immersive experience, where light becomes a vital co-performer. As shapes, colours, and shadows shift, the audience is invited to explore the emotional depth and artistic struggles of Rothko in a reimagined, abstracted environment.
MOST?
MOST? invites audiences into an immersive, mysterious world inside a historic building in the heart of Prague. Upon entering through black curtains, the space unfolds with a four-meter-high white fabric wall, concealing what lies beyond. As you navigate through a slalom passage and descend into a mist-filled room, the mystery deepens. Gradually, the space transforms as windows open, flooding the room with color, sound, and glimpses of the outside world. Then, complete darkness. In that silence, the building speaks—wind, birds, distant sounds. As light returns, shadows stretch across the walls, before the audience steps back into the streets of Prague, forever changed.
